is a Hewlett Packard Service Point? Hewlett
Packard's Service Point has been specifically designed to enable customers to
have access to an HP Authorised Service Centre, which enables customers to have
their computers and associated equipment repaired to the highest level of quality,
as quickly and cost effectively as possible. The service offered is both for items
that are under warranty or outside of the warranty period. PLEASE NOTE THAT HP NO LONGER OPERATE THEIR SERVICE POINT OFFERING. However, we may still be able to assist you, please call us to discuss Readycrest
have been accredited by Hewlett Packard for this work, and this is in addition
to them being an Authorised HP Office Centre. How does
it work? You
phone us on our Service Point Direct telephone number and speak to
one of our trained staff who will advise you. Which
products are covered?
Currently
the scheme will cover HP Personal LaserJet printers, HP DeskJet
printers, HP OfficeJet products, HP ScanJet products and HP Fax
products. For other products which are under warranty, please
follow the directions on your warranty or SupportPack agreements.
Repairs for other categories products will be available in due
course, please call for information.
How
do I go about getting products repaired? A
customer with an item of kit that needs repairing will initially phone Service Point Direct. The
service person will ask for certain details about the product (it will be useful
if you have as much information to hand as possible when you call) and then advise
you of the best course of action. If this requires a repair to be made, the item
can either be brought to us, or you can arrange to send it to us (we can arrange
collection if necessary) and we will either fix the problem while you wait, or
arrange for a repair of the unit. What
if I am out of warranty? Hewlett
Packard offer the same quality of service for products that are outside of warranty
as for those that are still within the warranty period. repairs will be carried
out to the same high standard, the only difference is that the repair will be
(understandably) chargeable. What
are the costs? If
your repair is covered by the HP warranty, then there is no charge. If
your repair is not covered by the HP warranty, then the charge will depend on
the amount of work done. How
long does it take?
Depending
on the level of repair needed, this can range from an on the spot
turn around to approximately a 7 day service where parts need
to be supplied from the Hewlett Packard warehouse.
What
do I do in the meantime? Readycrest
have a pool of equipment that can be hired out during the repair period (and at
other times) at very reasonable rates. please call the main number on 01634-661166

I protect against breakdowns?
Through
Hewlett Packard we offer a Support Pack which normally upgrades
and extends (typically to 3 years) the standard warranty that
comes with the full HP range of products. The support ranges from
on site collection to off site repairs at our Service Point. Please

protection and replacement schemes for the users of portable computers.
Can
I purchase Support for products out of warranty? Again
through HP we also offer an annual contract for those products that are outside
of the initial warranty period. please ring us on 01634-661166 for details and
costings. Can
I purchase support contracts for non HP items?
Finally,
for those people who have computer equipment other than HP, we
offer a similar annual contract, again 01634-661166 is the number
